One of my favourite techniques for jazzing up a plain old ceiling light or lamp is to use a funky lampshade. It wasn’t until I began working in the world of interior design that I realised what a difference this simple touch can make to a room. A chandelier for example might cost thousands of pounds whereas a bespoke shade, obviously depending on your choice of fabric would be considerably less. I stumbled upon these shades by, family-run local company Rapture & Wright whilst looking for fabric the other day and instantly fell in love, they would work perfectly with a neutral colour scheme with their beautiful colour palette and retro-contemporary feel. I would love to use them as a pair, over-sized of course in my mum’s new living room using their ‘Agnes-Aqua’ fabric. I also plan to undertake a lampshade making course so I can make my own… Imagine the possibilities!!
